FAQs

  • Yes, tours run rain or shine.  In extreme cases of weather where the city or state of NY declares an emergency, tours will be canceled and you will be offered an opportunity to reschedule or request a refund.

  • We do not, so please come prepared for inclement weather.  On some occasions, we will have ponchos for guests but we do not guarantee this.

  • Please text the contact number contained in your day of itinerary email so they can help you connect/guide you on directions to the meetup location. Be sure to arrive early in case there are any last minute issues that could cause you to be late.

  • Public tours will leave on time, however the day of the tour you will receive an itinerary that will help you join us along the way.  There is no problem with catching up and joining late, so please feel free to find us on the route.

  • Generally, no.  Most of our content is dense and heady - in that these aren’t bullet point style highlight tours - and may prove extremely boring for children under 14.  Of course, you know your child and this is best left to your discretion.  We do ask that you not drag along anyone (kids or adults) who really aren’t interested in the subject matter.  Ask, and we will provide you with alternative activities nearby that members of your crew can enjoy while we tour (coffee shops, shopping, sites to walk to). Exception: The Heroes & Villains Tour is probably one that children would enjoy.

  • Yes indeedy!  We love these requests and are committed to researching and delivering the most robust tours we can.  Because of this, we do ask for at least 3 weeks advance notice so we can build the info and test the route before offering it to you. We don’t do half-assed, so it will be well worth the wait.

  • We are not at this time, and our intention is to remain a small company because we are committed to quality.  Larger companies often lose control over the quality of their tours - it’s impossible to know every word 50+ guides are providing to guests.  For that reason, we intend to stay lean and mean so that we can deliver the best experiences possible.

  • Yes, guests who refer 5 or more first time guests will receive a free tour! We are always adding content so don’t be deterred if you’ve already done all of our tours.  More shall come…

  • Yes, for private tours over 15 people we offer a 10% discount. Private tours over 20 people receive a 20% discount.

  • Yes, on some tours we do go inside certain publicly accessible buildings. IMPORTANT NOTE: No one is allowed inside the New York Stock Exchange since the events of September 11th, 2001.   Entrance into the 911 Memorial Museum and One World Observatory are add on tickets as those venues charge admission. Those are not part of any Vibe tour, but can easily be purchased online for visits after the walking tours.

  • Tipping is a normal part of the Tour Guide world and is in part how Guides make a living. That said, with everyone and their brother asking for tips these days we do understand the concept of tip fatigue. If you had a good experience, please feel free to slip your guide some cold hard cash.  However, if it is not in your budget, that is totally okay! Our Guides will never ask for a tip (if they do please let us know) as our goal is to bring everyone, from every economic background, an enjoyable experience.
